This painting was inspired by late dusk on a trip through Raton, New Mexico. The evening light was so deep blue and passionate. One could even see a bit of moonlight hitting the clouds and there was a distinctive golden glow on the foreground. Like so many supernatural displays in this part of the world this was yet another. It is finished with retouch varnish but it is not glossy which allows viewer to see the depth in the layers of paint. There is a fair amount of detail in the vegetation and depth behind. The blue is mystical and spiritual. I also have a similar one finished with a black border. This one is borderless.
