Following a year of intense back pain and limitation, I had surgery and could walk again. My early walks were in a park near my home. As I walked I noticed the tar repair lines on the blacktop paths. They spoke to me of restoration, repair and a new life. This inspired me to create the “LIFE LINES” series. Life Lines XXVI began with an acrylic under painting on canvas. Collage materials were applied, the entire surface was covered with rice paper. Finally, surface marks were made with acrylic paint and china marker. The sides are a continuation of the front and the piece is wired ready for hanging.
