The contemporary artists at ViVO are emerging from their studios and are ready to share their objectified responses to the pandemic. The resulting paintings, sculpture, mixed media, mosaic and kiln glass in this show capture the depth of the experience that we are all sharing while inspiring new hope for a future alive and well and living in our hearts.

“I have always had a fascination with shapes and shadows and the space
in between. I really enjoy creating sculptures that have a lot of depth.”
I primarily work in metal, sometimes incorporating other materials such as stone and wood. My work begins with a simple sketch of a shape or idea and then I generally draw it out on a larger piece of poster board or cardboard and sometimes create maquettes. I then fabricate the design out of sheet metal. The multi-step process of inflating steel is labor intensive and fascinating. The shapes often drastically change creating abnormal and organic forms.
